American Production
Join the Fight to Bring Production Back to the USA
The last few years have been incredibly challenging for our industry. The United States hasn’t kept pace with global competition to attract production, and billions of dollars of investment in films and television projects has been spent in countries like Canada, England, South Africa, Ireland, Bulgaria, Romania, Argentina, and many more. Every year, this competition intensifies.
We must act now to make the U.S. a competitive and attractive place for production once again. That’s why the Coalition for American Production (CAP) is turning to Washington, D.C., to advocate for a federal tax incentive that brings jobs and opportunities back home.
We need your help to convince Congress this is an issue worth prioritizing.
Thank you,
TEAM CAP
FAQs
-
CAP advocates for a federal film and television production tax incentive to keep jobs, investment, and creative production in the U.S. We work with lawmakers, industry leaders, and local businesses to push this policy forward.
-
Many countries offer aggressive tax incentives that significantly lower production costs. Without a competitive federal film tax credit, U.S. projects are increasingly relocating overseas, resulting in lost jobs, revenue, and local business support.
-
A national incentive would create high-paying jobs, support small businesses, boost local economies, and keep the U.S. competitive in the global entertainment market. It would also strengthen our cultural footprint by ensuring more stories are made at home.
-
You can email your representatives, sign the petition, join CAP as a member, or attend our events in Washington, D.C. Every action helps amplify the need for federal support in the film industry.

Yes, many U.S. states offer their own tax credits, but they vary in scope and funding. A federal incentive would complement these programs and provide a stable baseline across all states.
